2009 School S.U.P.P.L.I.E.S. & Shoe Drive
The distribution will be held this year August 3 – 6 at UAW Local 685 and is run entirely by volunteers.
S.U.P.P.L.I.E.S. is an acronym for Supportive Unions Providing Pupils for Learning in Elementary Schools. It is a program sponsored by the Howard-County Central Labor Council, Salvation Army, and the United Way of Howard County. UAW Local 292 President Ginny McMillan and Shop Chair Danny Hiatt have always supported maintaining this program, and will again this year for the 13th time. Retiree President Sue Conner and many local 292 Retirees have donated shoes and funds and volunteered to help with the distribution every year as well.
